Owing to the collective skills, diverse backgrounds, and extensive experience of the team, WWIC is uniquely positioned to provide bespoke education programs to support wound prevention and high-quality care at a sustainable cost to practitioners, commissioners, and commercial and independent enterprises. 

We have a long history of excellence in wound education and continue to build on that legacy every day.  Whether you are looking for new ideas, want to get better results, improve wound prevention, care management, performance and or scrutiny process or indeed are ready to take your own or your organisation’s performance to the next level.
 

NHS/Commercial organisations

We offer bespoke education programs designed to help accelerate knowledge mobilisation and translation such that wound care health promotion and treatment options are current and consistently applied. 

Moving to the online platform presents opportunities to broaden our reach and expand our offering to an Alumni programme. 


We provide:
  • Development and implementation of face-to-face training and e-learning packages for clinicians and commercial staff.
  • Development and delivery of tailored education packages including staff induction training, foundation, intermediate and advanced programs.
  • Comprehensive wound pathway programs across eight common aetiologies.
  • Development of public and health professional information leaflets.
  • Adopt innovative approaches to education delivery aligned to the incorporation of virtual reality methods to enhance the learner’s experience.
  • Creation of adjunctive methods for education delivery to include interactive assessment and materials and design to support App development.
  • Conference and course program development and event management.
  • Presentations at national and international events.
  • Review of product publications to identify gaps where further research would be beneficial.

Independent Sector

We have expanded our education and training to the Local Authority and Care Home sector aimed at promoting a progressive agenda that is aligned to the regulatory commissioning, provision, and standards/quality requirements as well as bespoke education and clinical skills training programs to GP practices. The educational portfolio identifies comprehensive examples of education and teaching resources that can be individually tailored to the requirements of each setting.

Examples of educational sessions available include:
  • Pressure ulcer assessment, management, and prevention.
  • Maintaining skin integrity including management of frail skin (Prevention of skin tears and Moisture associated dermatitis).
  • Wound assessment.
  • Dressing selection.
Sessions can be delivered virtually via Teams or face to face according to organisational requirements
 

Masters in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair

Masters in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair. As the first Masters in Wound Healing in the world it continues to be held in high regard both nationally and internationally. Staff at WWIC contribute to the education program and support students in their academic journey.
